The Buffalo Bills defeat the Cleveland Browns in the teams’ second preseason game, final score 11-10. The team’s quarterback situation isn’t any more settled than it was before last night’s game. Tyrod Taylor, who impressed in a backup role in the team’s first game, did so again as the starter. He went 7-of-10 passing for 65 yards. The fleet afoot Taylor added another 41 yards on the ground while leading the first-team offense — or at least what was left of it after a rash of injuries over the last week.
Taylor played without the team’s top five running backs on the depth chart and was also without his top two wide receivers in Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin, who sat out the game with minor injuries.
Matt Cassel got the night off and EJ Manuel handled second-half quarterback duties. He led the team on a scoring drive in the second half punctuated by a touchdown pass with 1:31 to play. The team made the two-point conversion and earned the victory 11-10.
