Falls police investigating fatal crash

Niagara Falls police say speed was a factor in a fatal crash that killed a motorist early on Thanksgiving morning.

The incident happened around 5 a.m., on Pine Street when a 2001 Chevy Cavalier driven by a 23-year-old Niagara Falls man crossed the center line near Hyde Park Boulevard. The car then left the roadway and went airborne, striking a tree a guard rail and a flag pole. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified the victim and the crash remains under investigation.
