Niagara Falls City Council members made quick work of some legislative items at a special meeting called by Mayor Robert Restaino late Monday afternoon, approving public works contracts and a police union deal. A U.S. Marshal Task Force was shot at while executing a warrant on Glenwood Ave in Buffalo Monday afternoon. According to U.S. Marshal for Western New York Charles Salina, the Violent Fugitive Task Force was at 681 Glenwood Ave to serve a federal arrest warrant.Shortly after responding to the Americarb fire on Niagara Falls Boulevard on Saturday night, Niagara Falls firefighters were called to a fire at a vacant home on 10th Street and Cleveland Avenue.The blaze was called in about 10:05 p.m. Saturday. Roswell Park’s Community Outreach and Engagement Center on Michigan Avenue is being renamed following a $1 million donation from Broadview Federal Credit Union.Some concertgoers experienced an unexpected wait before Monday’s Forrest Frank show at KeyBank Center. Thousands of fans were left standing outside the arena as crews dealt with what officials said were production difficulties inside.
