Hometown Headlines 10/12/20

The WNY Region once again has the highest coronavirus positivity rate in all of NY State with 1.4% of residents testing positive.

 

A Wheatfield man is under arrest for allegedly killing his father on Hill Road over the weekend.  42 year-old Bryan Cummings is being charged with second degree murder and third degree criminal possession of a weapon. 

 

Students in two WNY districts are returning to the classroom this week. Fifth and sixth graders in the Williamsville School District return Wednesday, while kindergartners, first graders and special education students return in the Ken-Ton District on Tuesday. 

 

The Christopher Columbus statue that was removed in Buffalo is being replaced with a new one celebrating Italian immigrant heritage. 

 

In sports, the Sabres have signed 2018 MVP Taylor Hall to 1-year, $8m contract.

 

The NFL says the upcoming Bills game against the Chiefs is being moved from this Thursday to next Monday night.
