For the first time in months, most nursing homes across New York State will start allowing visitors back inside their facilities today.

 

New York Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker maintains the state's policies didn't lead to increased coronavirus deaths at nursing homes.

 

Representative Brian Higgins is lobbying in Washington to reopen the U.S / Canadian border by July 4th.

 

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded to a basement apartment fire at 6732 Akron Road in Lockport Thursday; no injuries reported.

 

A former Niagara Falls high school basketball coach is facing accusations of sexually abusing a student.  Pat Monti is accused of sexually abusing a 14 year old female student in the early 1980’s.

 

The local political scene is beginning to heat up as several candidates are announcing their intentions to run for office this fall. 

 

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown is announcing that he will be seeking a fifth term as the city’s mayor.

 

The Broadway Market will be open this Easter season after being closed last year. 

 

And in sports, the Sabres will begin allowing fans back to KeyBank Center March 20th against the Bruins.
