LOCKPORT HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE BACK OPEN TODAY AFTER AN INVESTIGATION INTO A THREATENING MESSAGE SHOWED THE SAFETY OF STUDENTS ISN'T AT RISK.

 

ALSO YESTERDAY, EMMET BELKNAP INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL WAS SHUT DOWN FOLLOWING A REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT. NO CREDIBLE THREATS WERE FOUND. 

 

THE STATE’S COVID-19 VACCINE MANDATE FOR HEALTH WORKERS IS ALREADY IMPACT STAFFING LEVELS AT AREA HOSPITALS.  ECMC SAYS 5% OF THEIR STAFF IS NOW ON UNPAID LEAVE ALONG WITH 20% OF ITS NURSING HOME STAFF. 

 

THE TRIAL IN THE CASE OF THE 1993 NORTH TONAWANDA MURDER OF MARY STEINGASSER WILL BE BROUGHT TO COURT AGAIN BY THE END OF OCTOBER; THIS TIME IN FRONT OF A NEW JUDGE. 

 

NATIONAL GRID CUSTOMERS COULD SEE THEIR UTILITY BILLS GO UP IN THE NEAR FUTURE.  AS PART OF A THREE-YEAR DEAL, RATES COULD BEGIN TO CREEP UP AS SOON AS JANUARY 1ST

 

A POPULAR NORTH TONAWANDA HALLOWEEN ATRACTION WILL BE OPEN AGAIN THIS YEAR.  KYLE AND ALISHA KING OF WNY PROPERTY KINGS WILL ONCE AGAIN HOST THE HAUNTED HOUSE AT 870 LEE AVENUE IN NORTH TONAWANDA BEGINNING FRIDAY.
