Officials said 46-year-old Edwin Miguel Batista was arrested after authorities conducted search warrants on a storage unit at Fashion Outlets Boulevard, a vehicle and a hotel room. A house fire in the Town of Hartland on Monday night is under investigation, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say around 11:15 p.m., they received a 911 call about a house fire on Asher Street. Once at the home, first responders evacuated the residents and were able to extinguish the fire. According to New York State Parks Department, tick activity has already been reported in multiple areas of New York as temperatures rise. Officials warn that increased outdoor activity during the warmer months can raise the risk of exposure. Across the state cases of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses are increasing.

Buffalo Police have released surveillance and body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting at a 7-Eleven on Prospect Avenue, which they happened to walk up to. The Buffalo Police Department has previously stated that two on-duty officers were walking into the store at the corner of Connecticut and Prospect when they saw the armed robbery in progress through the front window.

The Buffalo Fire Department is investigating a house fire that broke out early Friday morning. According to a spokesperson for BFD, the fire started around 4:22 a.m., in a 2.5-story home located at 938 Clinton Street. The fire reportedly started in the second floor and spread to the attic. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control a short time later.
