Niagara Falls firefighters are investigating a Saturday night fire at the Americarb facility at 6100 Niagara Falls Blvd. Firefighters responded to the facility about 9 p.m. Saturday with reports of an explosion and a wall collapse from the scene. A second fire was reported around 10 p.m. at a vacant, boarded-up home at Cleveland Avenue and 10th Street. The cause of that fire is under investigation.Two people were seriously injured Saturday after a car became lodged underneath a van following a rear-end collision in the Town of Lockport.Thousands took to Elmwood Avenue Sunday for the city’s annual Pride Parade and celebration. According to organizers, this year’s theme, Rooted in Pride, was all about encouraging others to express their roots and to be proud of where they came from and who they are.North Tonawanda Mayor Austin Tylec was recently appointed chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Niagara.Two people were ticketed after allegedly catching and keeping out-of-season walleye from the Niagara River in the City of Buffalo.
