6,300 National Grid customers are without power in Central New York. The main affected counties are Oneida, Herkimer and Hamilton.The residences affected, lost power around 3:30 p.m. This is due to a broken utility pole outside of Boonville.According to National Grid, crews are in the process of moving necessary equipment to make the repair. A spokesperson for National Grid explained that pole replacements are the most time-consuming repairs.Law enforcement received a call around 8:55am on June 27th after reports of an assault at the Amazon facility on Lockport Road in the Town of Niagara. The 911 caller told police that two males were physically fighting in the parking lot. One of the males sustained a bloody nose and a serious head injury after being struck, resulting in him being covered with blood. The other male fled the scene.Law enforcement received a call around 4:20pm on June 27th after reports of animal welfare at Wegmans on Military Road in Niagara Falls. The 911 caller, people on location at Wegmans, told police that they were concerned for the well-being of multiple dogs. Based on the weather at the time of the call, it was estimated that the temperature inside of the vehicle exceeded 100 degrees. A Waterville Man has been arrested as a result of an order of protection violation. On July 1st, 2026, a Deputy assigned to the Waterville Field Office responded to a Bogan Rd address in the Town of Marshall to follow up regarding a separate complaint. Upon arrival at said location, the Deputy observed that Gregory R. Getman (45), was at said location, while a Full Stay-Away Order of Protection was in place, ordering him to stay away from said residence and residents. Getman was taken into custody.
