The state and federal investigation into properties that may be contaminated with radioactive waste is expanding southward into Erie County after screenings of hundreds of properties in Niagara County and Grand Island. A Buffalo man, 36 year old Ramone James, was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge Tuesday after being accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend in south Buffalo on July 31. An Elma man died in a motorcycle accident on Monday afternoon, according to New York State Police. The motorcyclist, identified as 58-year-old Michael Groh, hit the back of a pickup truck while the truck was slowing down in traffic.
