A Newfane man was sentenced to two to six years in prison on Friday for a Lockport crash that killed his passenger in July 2025, the Niagara County District Attorney's Office said Friday. Thomas H. Summers Jr., 53, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter in July. Summers admitted to driving his truck while impaired under the influence of cocaine, methamphetamine, and oxycodone on July 16, 2025, when he crashed his vehicle on Lockport Junction Road. Rodolfo Espinoza, 47, of Newfane, died at the scene.Law enforcement received a call around 4:39pm after reports of a stabbing on September 9th at Popeyes on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Niagara Falls. The victim of the stabbing was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. He sustained serious injuries and was losing blood which led to him being transported for treatment by private vehicle and not an ambulance. The stabbing took place in broad daylight.
