A new $50 million sports complex began construction in Amherst on Monday.
The 716 Sports Complex is being built on Maple Road near Audubon Town Park and the Northtown Center. The 331,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility will feature two turf fields, six basketball courts, 12 volleyball courts, and 24 pickleball courts.The city of Buffalo is looking to acquire two historic buildings in the city’s Cobblestone District on North Park Avenue through the process of eminent domain, according to court documents.The Niagara County Sewer District has voted in favor of a six-month moratorium on any new development that exceeds 2,500 gallons a day of sewage output. The decision, made Wednesday, was to help curtail overloading of the county’s sewer plant after an extraordinary rainstorm earlier this month.A woman has filed a civil lawsuit against West Seneca Police Chief Brian Cosgrove, the Town of West Seneca Police Department, and the Town of West Seneca, alleging the police chief sexually assaulted her.
